YOUR CARE TEAM
All staff at The Denby complete a full induction programme, are qualified or registered with NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care. Fundamental to their role is the active promotion of the dignity and well-being of each individual resident and many are Registered Dignity Champions.
We continually ensure that staffing levels reflect the needs of residents in our care. In particular, that we have the appropriate number and skill mix of staff throughout the day and night, including weekends and public holidays.
The Denby has been accredited with the following:
- Investors in People GOLD for our high quality staff development and training
- Health & Safety 5 Stars for our attention to detail on health and safety matters
- Disability Two Ticks for our disability friendly policies and procedures
- Our Care Centre Manager has achieved the Registered Managers Award
- CHAS registration (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme)
Care Centre Manager - Holly Smedley
Holly is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Care Centre. She was previously manager of a residential care home in Dukinfield and achieved Excellent CQC inspection reports at that location. As your Manager, Holly operates an ‘open door’ policy and would be pleased to help you with any questions, queries or complaints regarding any aspect of your care at The Denby at Denby Dale.
Holly’s Deputy works alongside staff to ensure standards are maintained as well as providing guidance, training and support to staff throughout the care centre. The deputy manager wears a gold uniform.
Holly and her Deputy are also supported by Senior Carers who are responsible for care provision under the guidance and instruction of Holly. The Senior Carers ensure standards are maintained in line with regulations, as well as supervising and training the care team. Senior Carers wear gold uniforms with navy trousers.
The Care Staff
Care staff deliver personal care to residents under the guidance of our Senior staff. Care staff wear navy blue uniforms.
Activities may be carried out with an individual or on a group basis and are designed to provide mental and physical stimulation for our residents. The activities programme is discussed and agreed with residents on a regular basis.
Housekeeping staff are responsible for ensuring all areas of the Care Centre are clean and tidy. They are also responsible for laundry.
In addition to a General Assistant all our Care Centres have a contract in place for grounds and property maintenance. This ensures that our facilities are kept safe and faults are attended to as quickly as possible. If you have any concerns regarding the maintenance of The Denby, please speak with your Care Centre Manager.
We have a cook and kitchen assistants who work with residents to create delicious menus. All our food is prepared from fresh ingredients. Our menus change regularly and residents will always have a hot and cold option. Should they fancy something a little different or not feel up to eating much we will do our best to find an appetising alternative. Meals can be served in one of our restaurants or residents can opt to receive room service with their meal delivered on a tray to their room.
