The learning and development strategy at Meridian provides a support network for employees at all levels to assist them in achieving their goals, whether it be helping them to achieve NVQ Level 2 or managing relationships with colleagues and customers.
We currently have development programmes in place for Senior Care Development and Managers, which develops Deputy and Care Centre management skills. These are designed to offer employees the opportunity to further expand their knowledge and skills and develop their career in the care sector.
Staff who join us unqualified will be supported to help gain professional qualifications.
Gaining further qualifications
Meridian will endeavour to support any further development you might require to progress your career with us. You can discuss and agree (with your manager), which qualifications or training will be supported by the company.
Giving all staff the opportunity to realise their personal aspirations is very important to us. All our vacancies are advertised internally and, where possible, we promote from within Meridian Healthcare - in fact, most management vacancies are filled internally.
All full-time Care Centre employees are entitled to 28 days annual leave per annum, inclusive of eight statutory public and bank holidays. Annual leave is pro rata for part-time staff.
Long service awards
Meridian Healthcare is committed to recognising and rewarding the long service and loyalty of its employees. We recognise all permanent staff employees achieving 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years' service.
Recommend a friend
We're always looking for new staff members, in particular Care Assistants (day and night), Cooks, Domestic Assistants, Senior Care Assistants, Day Care Assistants, Kitchen Assistants and Registered Nurses.
As a valued member of staff, if you introduce a friend or family member who is looking for a career in care to Meridian Healthcare, we will pay you a one-off bonus (if we employ them and they successfully complete their 13-week probationary period).
Employee/Team Recognition Scheme
Meridian operates an award scheme for those special individuals or teams who achieve consistently outstanding performance and deliver high levels of service to our residents. The awards recognise and encourage the additional quality of life afforded to our residents by an outstanding attitude and commitment, special rapport with residents and visitors or for being approachable, supportive and understanding.
Recognition awards are made on a quarterly basis. The awards are open to current permanent employees of Meridian Healthcare. Nominations can be made by a colleague, visitor or resident and selected against specified criteria to determine which level of award should be given. As such, the awards are extremely desirable and prestigious within the company.
