Residents and guests of Meridian Healthcare’s Lauren Court care home hosted a special afternoon of activities as they opened their doors to celebrate the Harvest Festival (Thursday 6 October 2016).
Special guests MP Chris Matheson and Councillor Myles Hogg, Sheriff of Chester, were given a tour of the home and enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment with live music and a tea dance.
The residents, staff and guests raised over £50 for The Silver Line, a national helpline for older people, with a bake sale.
MP Chris Matheson commented: “I had a lovely time at Lauren Court. There was a great atmosphere and I was made to feel very welcome. I probably ate one cake too many though.”
Betty Hackney, resident, added: “I really enjoyed the entertainment and I even told the singer he could turn his music up!”
Run by award-winning Meridian Healthcare, Lauren Court is located in Shelley Road.
