Residents from The Denby were pleased to be part of village tradition when they enjoyed a pie themed afternoon for Yorkshire Day.
Situated in the village of Denby Dale, renowned for its world-famous and record-breaking pie creations, The Denby joined in with the local celebrations and served a platter of pies including corn beef and cheese and pickle.
Residents were also treated to a traditional Yorkshire pie for dinner, as well as family, friends and guests joining them for the afternoon event.
Yorkshire Day is held every year on 1 August when the region comes together to celebrate all things Yorkshire.
Holly Smedley, care centre manager, said: “We wanted to celebrate Yorkshire Day with our residents and as Denby Dale is so famous for its pies, we thought it would be fitting to swap our afternoon tea for a pie themed ritual instead!”
